The great Cross Country Triathlon will return to Sardinia, in Golfo Aranci, next October 31st: a crowd of champions will land in the northern part of the island
Golfo Aranci‘s wonderful beaches on a side and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub Costa Smeralda a few steps away: this is both the heaven on earth for the outdoor sports enthusiasts and the breathtaking setting for the upcoming Sardegna Tries X, international triathlon cross country race to be held in Sardinia on Sunday, October 31st.
In a season marked by the restart of the outdoor events on the Italian island, the Sardegna Tries X is set like the ideal continuation of the summer season – in the wake of to seasonal adjustment promoted by the Sardinia Region – and marks the great return of the international Cross Country Triathlon on the Island.
Equally distributed between Men and Women competition, the prize money amounts to 20,000 euros and it is a byword of great ambitions, as well as the technical significance of this Sardegna Tries X premiere. The event includes an initial 1-km swimming fraction in the clear waters of the Gulf of Marinella, followed by the Mountain Bike (23 km) and running (7 km) sections to be unfolded on the wild single tracks around the hill of Nostra Signora del Monte, a natural terrace above Punta Marana, 15 km from Olbia. Borgo Marana will host the logistics base, departure, transition and arrival area. Sardegna Tries X is organized by Sardegna X Sports, with the support of Regione Autonoma della Sardegna’s Tourism Department and the Golfo Aranci’s Municipality.
An organizational team strongly rooted in the territory, with a solid experience in the world of events and the availability of different skills within it, ensures the competition solid technical contents. The Sardegna Tries X schedule will include moments of contact with Sardinian peculiarities, an intersection of flavors and cultures from a millenary tradition.
A lot of international champions are ready to excite the Sardegna Tries X crowd. There will be athletes with the likes of Ben Allen (AUS), Leon Drajer (ESP), Dominik Wychera (AUT), Felix Schumann (GER) and Jan Kubicek (CZE) in the Men’s competition, while Jacqui Slack (GBR), Kiara Lenaerts (BEL) and Maud Golsteyn (NED) are some of the big names in the Women’s field.

We believe that outdoor events as the Triathlon Cross Country Sardegna Tries X can be a driving force for the Island’s touristic promotion and allow us to expand the offer both in terms of quality and in terms of seasonality” President of Sardegna X Sport Francesco Biggio explains.
The international event will be opened by Acquathlon regional championships of Sardinia (2,5-km running, 1-km swimming, 2,5-km running) on Saturday, October 30th and followed by a Trail event on Monday, November 1st.
