Sardegna Tries X to the starting gates in Golfo Aranci

Sardinia is ready to welcome three days of outdoor sports events organized by Sardegna X Sports. The program starts tomorrow with the Aquathlon Sardinia Championships, followed by the Triathlon Cross Country international event on Sunday. A trail running competition closed the schedule on Monday, November 1st

Summer has left the way to Autumn for a few weeks but the pleasant temperatures make Sardinia the home of outdoor sports at this time of the year. From tomorrow, on Saturday, October 30th, the wonderful landscapes characterizing the Gulf of Marinella in Golfo Aranci will host the first edition of Sardegna Tries X, three days of outdoor sports events organized by Sardegna X Sports with the contribution of the Sardinia Region and the Municipality of Golfo Aranci.

This event marks the return of the international Triathlon Cross Country in Sardinia, on Sunday, October 31st, in a race characterized by a prize pool of 20,000 euros. However, the program starts with the Aquathlon Sardinia Championships to be held on Saturday, whilst a Trail Running competition will close the schedule, on Monday, November 1st.

The headquarter of Punta Marana is ready to welcome the big names of the discipline, like Kieran McPherson (New Zealand), Jullien Buffe (France), Nicolas Lebrun (France), Xavier Dafflon (Switzerland), Leon Drajer (Spain), Dominik Wychera (Austria), Felix Schumann (Germany), Joep Staps (Netherlands), William Allen (United States) and Alessandro Degasperi (Italy) for the men’s competition. In addition, Morgane Riou (France), Kiara Lenaerts (Belgium), Maud Golsteyn (Netherlands) and Italian Monica Cibin are the main favorites for the women’s race.

We are satisfied with the startlist”, explains Sardegna X Sports President Francesco Biggio. – “We were able to attract some of the big names of the Triathlon Cross Country on the international scale despite our being a new event. We are working with great attention to details to give Sardinia three days of great competition”.

The triathlon event includes an initial 1-km swimming fraction in the clear waters of the Gulf of Marinella, followed by the Mountain Bike (23 km) and running (7 km) sections to be unfolded on the wild single tracks around the hill of Nostra Signora del Monte, a natural terrace above Punta Marana, 15 km from Olbia. Borgo Marana will host the logistics base, departure, transition and arrival area.
